This was taken right outside one of the side gates of Cambridge University. When we were strolling on the streets of the town we saw so many youths. And with every youth that walks past me, I can't help feeling so stupid because ordinary as they seem they're all so bloody smart!
Oh yeah that reminds me, the yellow jacket gave me alot of trouble over there. It was a jacket that my brother wore back when he was twelve and we went to Beijing during winter. So I just took it since I didn't want to waste money to get another winter jacket although i knew it was awfully hideous. Trouble is, yellow is the official colour for traffic police, rubbish collectors and all sorts of weird jobs there. Our jackets SORT OF resemble theirs but ours has the black stuff which attracted alot of attention. They probably thought we were the new roadsweepers or something. How totally embarassing. They stared, but were polite enough not to stare too long. Wait till I get to the post on Paris, people there are sooo annoying!
After that we drove to the town of oxford where the University of Oxford was located (well duh again) and spent a night there. We got a nice bed&breakfast place and I had a real good bath. It was a little more expensive though, around 180 pounds for one night (S$400). We reached at night so we had dinner at the nearby macdonalds. We seem to eat macdonalds alot on this whole trip :D Here's a few photos we took the next morning.
DAY THREE
Yes, the pig sleeping in light blue jeans on the right is me, now shut up.
Da toilet!
Who woke me up!?
They provided internet for us to use in the common space downstairs :D
Pretty little cottage that we stayed in. We took the attic while our grandparents took the ground floor.
Yupp we drove around Oxford and snapped a few photos. Again, many students on the streets and I felt so inferior again.
A view of Oxford University from far far away teehee.
Laughing at ourselves whilst the local people there stared at us curiously. Bet they thought we were as mad as cat in the hat! I mean, who takes photos with a post box, seriously! :D Hahaha but my parents said that very same post box was there 20 years ago when they visited so it held sentimental value for them.
We then managed to pay the traffic fines through our car rental company and proceeded to Anne Hathaway's cottage. Yes, at first I thought it was the actress at first. Y'know, Anne Hathaway
But nope, its not this Anne Hathaway. It was Shakespeare's wife's cottage so taadaa!
I thought these rotten apples were cute. You don't get to see apples strewn on the ground below a tree in singapore!
Oh look, wooden dustbin! :D
After that we went to the county town of Warwickshire. We visited the Warwick castle there, I took a video of the wax figures in the castle, I'll put that up next time. The whole place was really nice and ancient. We climbed exactly 550 steps to the top of the watch tower where they had funny little holes in the wall in the shape of a cross where the medieval soldiers placed their crossbows. Damn I don't have any photos of Warwick castle but I have a few photos taken while we were in that town (:
They like red alot in Britain.
The infamous red telephone box woohoo
I think it was some sort of cathedral.
